Grab your flannel, fluff your hay, and fire up those glue guns — it’s time for the Second Annual Scarecrow Showdown at Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery!
We’re blowing into spooky season with a breeze of creativity and a gust of good-natured rivalry. Your mission? Stalk up on imagination, stuff those wild ideas into something legendary, and craft a scarecrow that’s anything but basic straw. Whether it's spooky, silly, punny, or proudly unhinged, we want to see what your brain (and broomstick) can conjure!
The Details:Where: Fowler Ranch Farm BrewerySubmissions Due: October 8th–10th (Drop off at the brewery)Size Requirements: Must be no smaller than 4 ft and no taller than 6 ftDisplay Note: Must be able to attach to a T-post (we’ll provide the posts)Weatherproofing: Scarecrows will be displayed outdoors — make sure they can withstand wind, weather, maybe a nosy squirrel or two and being on display until the end of October.Materials: All scarecrows must be made from recycled, repurposed, or found materials — think upcycled chic meets cornfield couture
Judging & Prizes:
Signs will be made for each entry with your team name, scarecrow name, and Charity/Non Profit of choice, plus a QR code for voting
Two different winners will be chosen:
Staff Choice & Community Choice
Judging is based on:
- Originality
- Creativity
- Unique use of materials
Winners will receive:
- A Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery prize
- A donation made in their name to the charity or non-profit of their choice
- Bragging rights that last until next harvest
Rules & Guidelines:
- Must be family friendly — no political or religious statements
- Must be able to stand upright when attached to a T-post
- No hazardous or smelly materials
- When submitting your scarecrow, you will be asked for your team name, scarecrow name, and charity/non profit of choice.
- Last day to register to join in on the fun is October 7th.
-Entries must be turned in at the brewery October 8th (3-8pm), October 9th (3-9pm), or October 10th (12-3pm) - late entries may be accepted at Fowler's discretion until 9pm on October 10th. No refunds will be given for late entries.
Winners will be announced on October 12th!
- You may pick up your scarecrow on November 2nd — after that, unclaimed entries will be donated or respectfully composted
